But, i will never use a ladder again unless it is a two person to hunt with my son. If i had any beef on them it is they are too low profile so you can't get two boots on one rung. The family traditions stands are tanks and are a low profile. Now i knock them out in 25-30 mins including bow hangers, safety straps, hoists, bag hooks, camera mounts, etc. It honestly took me an hour to hang each stand when i started with a lot of hanging on for dear life. I tighten the prussik and work no hands on the ladder very comfortably hanging the stand. For the last two, i then have the stand on a rope attached to a d-ring on my belt. With the new lanyard, i put the first two sections on the tree and then i am up the tree in 7-8 mins with all ladders on. It never felt safe and the Family Traditions Hang on Stand is a very heavy bugger (good thing when in tree). Using the linemans belt i was always twisted, caught, hugging the tree, losing its bite, etc. It was a game changer versus a linemans belt. It has three connection points (d-rings) and a prussik for quick tightening. I bought a 2 and 1 lanyard to attach to my safety harness loops. But i found a solution when i bought some arborists gear for the job. climber? If it because of the challenge of hanging stand, I used to hate hanging these heavy things. Is the ladder a must? Or are you just saying ladder v. Hope you find one that Works for You and is durable.įamily traditions x3. Not sure how close to you and they sell others. Menards still offers some but never purchased one from them. Might look at Sportsman Guide to see what is is out there and maybe Blains Farm & Fleet. I look at several brands and images to see the Standing Platform size most are small. Also they have moved from IL to I think Wisconsin. Big Dogs once were sold at Menards I bought the 2 Direct but their S&H has gone up as Fed Ex increased the cost. Those are the only 2 I can suggest if they are still offered my other Ladder Stand is an Older Strongbuilt no longer in Business. Not sure they are even made but 1 is a Blue Tick 1 Person Stand the other is a Red Tick 2 Person Stand. I have put up a 2 Person Stand alone by using "Tree Stand Up" product as it helps anchor the legs in place so you can tip any Ladder Stand into place. So If you look at images you can see these vary in size. Not All Ladder Stands are Equal, the standing Platform varies some are just too small and can be trouble getting into position to make the shot.
